We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase from Shumake. This Returns Policy is designed to be clear and easy to understand and is in accordance with your legal rights under applicable laws.
Your Statutory Rights
As a consumer, you have statutory rights relating to faulty goods or goods not as described. These rights are not affected by our returns policy. In summary, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
Returns for Unwanted Items – Your Right to Cancel (Cooling-Off Period)
If you purchased goods from us either online, by phone, or mail order (distance selling), you have the right to cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of receiving your goods. This is known as the “cooling-off period.”
How to Cancel Your Order and Return Unwanted Items:
- You must inform us of your decision to cancel within 14 days of receiving your goods.
- You can do this by submitting a cancellation request through our Returns Portal.
- You must then return the goods to us within 14 days of notifying us of your cancellation.
Condition of Returned Unwanted Items: Returned items must be in a resalable condition. You may inspect the goods as you would in a shop but must take reasonable care. We may deduct from your refund if goods are handled beyond what is necessary to assess them.
Return Delivery Costs for Unwanted Items: You are responsible for return delivery costs for items returned under the cooling-off period. You may:
- Arrange your own return using a carrier of your choice.
- Request that we arrange a collection (additional cost may apply, deducted from your refund).
Returns for Faulty, Defective or Not as Described Items – Your Right to Cancel
If you have received goods that are faulty, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality, you are entitled to the following remedies:
Short-Term Right to Reject (Within 30 Days): You can reject faulty items and receive a full refund if notified within 30 days of receipt.
Right to Repair or Replacement (After 30 Days and Up to 6 Months): You can request repair or replacement within 6 months of receipt. If these are not possible, you may be entitled to a refund or alternative.
Beyond 6 Months: You may still have rights if the goods are not of durable quality, depending on the product.
How to Return Faulty or Defective Items:
- Notify us as soon as possible by submitting a return request through our Returns Portal.
- Aesthetic differences (e.g. lack of fluffing) are not considered faults.
- Once the fault is confirmed, we will advise on the return process.
Return Delivery Costs for Faulty Items:
- Arrange your own return and get reimbursed up to a maximum of $30 (with proof of postage).
- Or use our collection service, which is free for up to 4 parcels.
How to Return Items
Returns Portal: Use our online Returns Portal to initiate returns. Returns without a valid RMA number will not be accepted.
Packaging: Securely package goods to prevent damage. Original packaging is preferred. Remove or cover original labels.
Proof of Postage: Always obtain and provide proof of postage when returning items on your own.
Refunds & Exchanges
Refund Timeframe: Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving returned goods or proof of postage.
Refund Method: Refunds are issued to the original payment method used.
Deductions from Refunds: We may deduct if goods are returned in diminished value. If you use our collection service, the cost is deducted from your refund for unwanted items.
Original Delivery Costs:
- Faulty Goods: Full delivery cost refunded.
- Unwanted Items: Standard delivery cost refunded; premium options excluded.
